Seattle from 75 stories up

Wedding - not ours

Dodged Torchlight Parade traffic to make it to the 75th floor of the Columbia Tower for friends' wedding/vow renewal. After 17 years, we still clean up pretty good.

Land-locked whales at Crossroads water park

Whale sightings in Crossroads area of Bellevue. Even not-so-steady-on-his-feet Dylan got into the mix in his little giraffe print trunks. Rubberized surface, lots of space, sunshine galore and 90+ degrees: great day, great park!

Toddler dinner by candlelight

Dinner by candlelight w/classical music for ambiance along w/overly dramatic rendition of Jack & the Beanstalk. A TV-free evening? Priceless.

Sleeping beauty (and puppy) and sleeping bruiser

I checked on Ava tonight and found her curled up with the puppy a friend gave her. She's named him Balito for some reason. Had to share. :-)

And the Sleeping Bruiser: Dylan, age seven months this week and a bicep-busting 19.5 lbs. He's wearing 9-12 month clothes.

We've carried him around in an Ergo since birth so he's snug as a bug whenever we put him in, but he's getting to be a bit much. The Ergo's good to 40lbs. but I'm not so sure my back is good to that weight.
We'll figure it out and in the meantime continue to enjoy this period where his favorite place to be is in our arms.

Wooden boat festival!

We headed down to Lake Union for the Wooden Boat Festival to meet up with some parents from our PEPS group and their kids.
Jason and Ava built a little boat using materials the festival provided and we helped Ava push model sail boats around a small pond/water enclosure alongside the dock.
Final product ready to set sail for the 4th of July holiday

We also got a close-up view of all the cool watercraft, although we skipped the big boat tours because the kids were reaching their limit.
The food booths looked pretty tasty but we'll have to try them next year. All in all, lovely family outing and finally, some sun.
